Nutri-E ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

Supplement Data: Names, brands, dosages, and nutrient information you enter or scan
Food Intake: Photos and descriptions of meals you track
Health Metrics: Age, gender, and dietary preferences for personalized RDA calculations
Schedule Information: Supplement schedules and reminders you create

Automatically Collected Information¶

Usage Data: Features used, AI lookups consumed, and app interactions
Device Information: iOS version, device model (for compatibility)
Subscription Status: Active subscription tier and purchase history (via Apple)

Data We Do NOT Collect¶

We do NOT collect your name, email, or contact information
We do NOT share your data with third parties for advertising
We do NOT sell your personal information

How We Use Your Information¶

Core Functionality¶

Store your supplement and food data locally on your device (Core Data)
Calculate personalized nutrient recommendations based on your profile
Track AI usage limits based on your subscription tier
Sync supplement information from NIH DSLD database

AI-Powered Features¶

OpenAI API: When you use AI features (label scanning, food analysis), images and text are sent to OpenAI's API via our Cloudflare Worker proxy
Data Minimization: We only send the minimum data needed for analysis
No Persistent Storage: OpenAI does not store your images or analysis results (per their API policy)
Encryption: All API communications use HTTPS encryption

Analytics (Optional)¶

We may collect anonymous usage statistics to improve app performance
You can opt out of analytics in Settings

Data Storage and Security¶

Local Storage¶

All your personal data is stored locally on your device using iOS Core Data
Data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
We do NOT store your data on our servers

Cloud Backup¶

If you use iCloud Backup, your data may be included in your device backup
This is controlled by your iOS settings, not by our app

Data Retention¶

Your data remains on your device until you delete the app
Deleting the app removes all local data
AI API requests are not stored by us or OpenAI

Third-Party Services¶

Apple In-App Purchases¶

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple
Apple may collect payment information per their privacy policy
We only receive subscription status (active/inactive, tier level)

NIH DSLD Database¶

Supplement lookups query the public DSLD database via our Cloudflare Worker
No personal data is sent, only supplement names or barcodes

OpenAI (GPT-4 Vision)¶

Used for AI-powered label scanning and food analysis
Images and text are sent securely to OpenAI's API

Your Rights and Choices¶

Access and Control¶

You can view, edit, or delete any data within the app
Export your data (supplements, nutrients) from Settings
Delete your account data by uninstalling the app

Subscription Management¶

Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Your Name → Subscriptions
Cancellations take effect at the end of the billing period

Opt-Out Options¶

Disable AI features to avoid OpenAI API usage
Turn off analytics in app Settings (when available)

Children's Privacy¶

Nutri-E is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

International Users¶

The app is designed for use worldwide
Data is stored locally on your device
AI processing may occur on servers in the United States (OpenAI infrastructure)

Changes to This Policy¶

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via: - App update release notes - In-app notification - Updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

Data Deletion¶

To delete all your data: 1. Delete all supplements, food entries, and schedules within the app 2. Uninstall the app from your device 3. If you used iCloud Backup, delete the app from your iCloud backups
