YouTube Music Selection Guide

Current Status (October 30, 2025)

Videos Scheduled with Music

All three full-length vitamin videos were given the same music track (mistake):

  • Vitamin B12 (45.25s, Nov 1): "Statement" (3:07) - ✅ Processing
  • Vitamin E (47.6s, Nov 4): "Statement" (3:07) - ✅ Processing
  • Vitamin A (47.7s, Nov 6): "Statement" (3:07) - ✅ Processing

Why this was a mistake: Using the same music for all videos reduces variety and can make content feel repetitive to viewers who watch multiple videos.

Music Selection Best Practices

Key Principles

  1. Vary music tracks across videos in the same series
  2. Match mood to content - different vitamins/topics may benefit from different musical moods
  3. Consider video length - track should be longer than video or loop naturally
  4. Use YouTube Audio Library - copyright-free, safe for monetization

For educational health/vitamin content, rotate between these styles:

Upbeat/Energetic

  • Statement (3:07) - Clean, professional, educational
  • Spring In My Step (1:59) - Light, positive energy
  • Beat Your Competition (2:54) - Motivational feel

Calm/Informative

  • Blue Skies (2:44) - Gentle, reassuring
  • Summer Smile (1:53) - Warm, approachable
  • Sunny Travel (2:28) - Light, optimistic

Professional/Serious (for deficiency symptoms)

  • Eyes of Glory (2:32) - Serious but hopeful
  • Know Myself (3:23) - Contemplative, thoughtful
  • How it Began (3:03) - Steady, informative

What SHOULD Have Been Done (Reference for Future)

Vitamin B12 (Fatigue/Neurological Symptoms)

  • Track: "Statement" (3:07)
  • Why: Professional, educational tone. Good for serious health topics like B12 deficiency which affects energy and cognition
  • Mood: Clear, authoritative

Vitamin E (Antioxidant/Immunity)

  • Track: "Blue Skies" (2:44) or "Summer Smile" (1:53)
  • Why: Vitamin E is about protection and wellness - calming, reassuring music fits the protective nature of this antioxidant
  • Mood: Gentle, optimistic

Vitamin A (Vision/Growth)

  • Track: "Eyes of Glory" (2:32) or "Spring In My Step" (1:59)
  • Why: "Eyes of Glory" works perfectly with Vitamin A's role in vision health. Alternative: upbeat track for growth/development themes
  • Mood: Hopeful, clear

Future Upload Workflow

When adding music to scheduled videos:

  1. Plan music variety BEFORE uploading
  2. Document track selection in a comment/note:
    Video: Vitamin X
    Track: "Track Name" (duration)
Reason: [why this track fits the content]

  3. Avoid using same track for consecutive videos in series
  4. Update SOCIAL_MEDIA_STATUS.md with track name and reasoning

Track Database (YouTube Audio Library)

Quick Reference

Track Name Duration Mood Best For
Statement 3:07 Professional, educational Serious health topics
Blue Skies 2:44 Calm, reassuring Wellness/prevention content
Spring In My Step 1:59 Upbeat, positive Energy/vitality topics
Eyes of Glory 2:32 Hopeful, serious Vision/clarity topics
Summer Smile 1:53 Warm, friendly General health content
Beat Your Competition 2:54 Motivational Performance/strength topics
Sunny Travel 2:28 Light, optimistic Movement/activity content

Lesson Learned (October 30, 2025)

Mistake: Added "Statement" track to all three videos without considering variety.

Why it happened: Focused on efficiency (same track = faster workflow) rather than viewer experience.

Impact: Videos may feel repetitive to viewers who watch the full series.

Future Prevention: - Create music plan BEFORE starting upload session - Reference this guide when selecting tracks - Think about series variety, not just individual video quality
